Sacred Site

Almost one and a half years in the making, this work is made up of 8 integrated panels. I originally conceived the work as being 16 panels, and imagined it curving around to form a 360 degree circle that would be seen from the inside. The viewer would then be surrounded by an image of men sitting around a fire. But after the eighth panel, I felt the piece was complete. Although the men appear to be Native Americans, I didn't actually use any models. SACRED SITE represents our most ancient ritual...the use of fire as a tool for meditation, a journey into what we could call 'waking dreams'.
