OF THE EARTH
imagines the whole of our planet intermingling. On the left a
man and woman rise up through the surface of the forest as extensions of the
roots below, while on the right side, you can see a man and woman extend out
of the branches. Because much of our DNA code resembles not only the DNA
coding of other creatures, but that of trees and plants as well, we are
therefore, in essence, made 'of the earth', interconnected to all life on
this planet. This picture took 8 long months to complete. The pastels on the
paper are so thick that they rise almost half an inch off the paper.
