CANOPY imagines
the 'limbs' of trees transforming into the 'limbs' of men,
each man reaching out and keeping another man aloft. The picture hopes to
reflect the social cohesiveness still found among small, traditional
communities whose model for well-being is the forest itself. Just as no
central force determines the health of a forest, so too, no person takes a
central role in the health of a living community. Instead, each individual
reaches out like the interweaving branches of the forest treetops. CANOPY
imagines that our Spirit never journeys alone but is always supported by
others making the same journey, a journey that propels our Spirit up through
the vast, sunlit canopy above.
